Multisite studies create special access-control challenges. Staff at one facility may need to create, edit, and review records for their own participants, while central data managers may need oversight across all sites. REDCap Data Access Groups, often abbreviated as DAGs, support this separation by restricting users to records assigned to their group. In a well-configured project, a user assigned to the Kisumu site should not routinely see identifiable records from Nairobi, Kilifi, or Mombasa unless that access has been approved and documented.
